Congrats! I tend to specialise working alongside women/people/whānau wanting to avoid unnecessary interventions (such as those planning a primary or home birth), and now work alongside Sheena providing on-call care for you alternating weeks. Families enjoy the support of our dual experience and fresh energy. Families booked with us are supported to work through their options based on evidence, have the critiques/complexities of the evidence unpacked, are encouraged to weave in your own intuition, and we then have your back completely on the informed choice you ultimately make. We also like to have some good laughs and fun along the way! A bit about me: I started my first of 2 midwifery degrees in 2003, and have since been a passionate member of the birth/intersectional reproductive justice community. I have 2 children, am originally from California, enjoy the outdoors/nature, and have been described in feedback as patient, passionate, engaging, knowledgeable, fun and kind.
Feel free to call or text me on: 0212884011 and have a no-pressure chat to sort out if Sheena and I are the best fit for you and your whānau. If you find I am currently off-call, Sheena is available on 0273838006. I can also be reached by email: [email protected].
If we have worked together previously, please get in touch regardless of my posted availability status.
Clinics are Monday afternoons/evenings at Te Ara Sophia in Opawa, or Tuesday afternoons at Kurawaka Waipapa in the city centre. These can often be flexible to help allow for equitable access to care.
