Hayley Gimblett ( Registered Midwife)
Kia ora and congratulations on your pregnancy!
My name is Hayley and I work with the wonderful women in Rātā Midwives! My back up midwives are Rachel Tong and Mel Parr.
I live in Halswell with my partner and our little boy who is our absolute world! Outside of my midwife role, I enjoy spending lots of time outdoors and keeping active. I also hugely value spending quality time with my family who I am very close with.
I feel very privileged to be a midwife and have the opportunity to work alongside women and their whānau during such an exciting time. I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a significant, but natural family life event. I am passionate about advocating for birthing people and supporting them to achieve their natural potential during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
It is important to me to work in partnership with those I care for, this is supported by having informed discussions and creating a care plan that suits the individual needs of whānau.
I provide care for those wanting to birth at home or at a primary birthing unit. I also support birthing at Christchurch Women’s Hospital when medically indicated.
My clinic is held at Kurawaka Waipapa on a Wednesday Afternoon. I also am able to provide some antenatal care at Oromairaki in Rolleston.
Please get in touch with me if you think we may be a good fit, just mention my name in the enquiry form and we can have a chat!
Please note, Hayley will be going on Maternity leave from December 2024
